We measured the windows, and then went to MakeICT and cut our cedar trim. This is red aromatic cedar we got from a little sawmill near Branson. We may need some more boards to finish the job.
Today we visited a metal siding manufacturer, and got some metal tubes at the Yard Store (not shown). Then this evening I made some trim for the bottom of the wall, and around the tail light. I'll probably do the other side using a faster method.
Made corners for the sill pan under the door. I glued one corner to the sill pan, but I still have one left. It has been really nice to have the door hanging from the "crane" I made--i can test-fit the flashing as I make it.
This is two pictures of some proposed trim to finish water-proofing the bottom corner of the door. It is nice to have door hanging from a wall-mounted "crane"so I can easily work on it and try different things without having 3 guys to lift it in and out.
Started the project of removing the door and fixing the flashing so that water doesn't get in anymore. That door was caulked in so tight! (but the bottom leaked--weakest link)
i did get the final piece in above this, but this was the final picture before I ran out of phone battery. I should have worn gloves -- my hands were purple and leprous. #nofilter #blurry
We got so much done while family was here! E & A helped us finish the wiring, and do almost all of the plumbing, as well as put in the metal brace rods for the reading nook.
I finished everything obvious yesterday, so today I thought about the next steps, and started putting the curb the roof of the reading nook in preparation for a rubber sheet.
We got a little water in the house from that torrential rain. Mostly from the door, that needs re-flashing, but some from somewhere I couldn't figure out. Maybe that's why people put siding on their houses.
I'm going to be Labor-ing on my tiny house tomorrow, so come on over for an Open House, between 11am and 3pm! There might even be some work for you to do.
Here is the wiring diagram for our tiny house. I'll probably redo it when I'm done, to accurately show wherever I ended up doing. But I think this will tell me enough to drill the holes and run the wires.
A bit more work today on the loft extension: adding a new stud, and attaching the last joist to it. Connected the end of the house to the existing loft.
